Sightseeing of Salzburg. Hohensalzburg Castle (1007) is located at an altitude of 120 meters above the city on a hilltop of Festungberg mountain (the area of 30 thousand m ²). The magnificent view opens from here. This From the Old Town one can raise here by a funicular. Throughout its history the Castle survived only a 61 day siege, when in 1525 it was surrounded by insurgent peasants. The recent appearance of Hohensalzburg belongs to the XVI century. Here you can see the fortress palace, with the Golden room, and the oldest organ of the city - "Salzburg Bull", which is located in the tower of the palace, the Castle Museum, representing a large collection of weapons of different ages; Nonnberg Nunnery - the oldest valid, where only the minster is open for tourists.
