Select the country and object's type Ruisrock made a new visitor number record - 93 000 celebrated this weekend in Ruissalo

Ruisrock attacted a new record number of visitors this weekend when 93 000 people visited Ruissalo in Turku, Finland this weekend. Friday and Saturday sold out with 35000 people each day, on Sunday the number of visitors was 23 000. Previous record number of visitors was 92 000 festival goers in 2009.

Ruisrock offered a a wide variety of different music genres; an adequate mix of world star artists, Finnish mass favourites, and new interesting talent. On the hot weather audience was treated with a large set of international stars; Wiz Khalifa, Phoenix, Suede, First Aid Kit,You Me At Six, Tame Impala, The 1975 and Swedish pop duo Icona Pop whose show attracted a massive sea of people. Variety of Finnish artists ranged from Robin who filled the Teltta Stage to the sensitive interpretation of Vesa-Matti Loiri on the filled beach. Giant audiences during the weekend was gathered by David Guetta, The Offspring, Studio Killers and Bastille among others.

\"I believe the enormous success of this year was a sum of many parts and a result of persistent work. In addition to excellent artists the festival itself is a headliner and it attracts people. People come to the festival to spend the best weekend of the summer and to see great performers. Everything went according to the plan and year 2014 Ruisrock was an incredible success in every aspect\", says promoter Mikko Niemelä.

In addition to the line up the audience praised the variety of area program, and the food and drink selection. People enjoyed themselves on the beach and in the green Ruissalo savouring the delicacies of Hans Välimäki\'s restaurant Rikhads at Ruissalo, the selection of wine and champagne bars and the new specialty beer bar. Area program offered seeing, experiencing and doing from visual art to theatre and circus in addition to water fighting, bingo and other activities. Festival was a celebration of being together in the warm weather. Police and security says the festival was very peaceful despite the large amount of people.

Next year Ruisrock will be celebrated in Ruissalo in Turku 3.-5.7.2015. Festival tickets will be on sale in Tiketti tomorrow 7.7. at 12pm for the price of the year 2014, 125 euros.
