The WTTC Global Summit is the world\'s highest-level gathering of Travel & Tourism executives, government representative and speakers, who will be coming together to unlock the Travel & Tourism industry\'s significant potential for sustainable worldwide development and economic growth.
This year, the theme of the event is “A time for leadership”. The industry faces greater demands than almost ever before – including a burgeoning middle class in the BRICs that will provide an extra one billion middle-class consumers with a thirst for knowledge and a desire to travel. With UNWTO estimating that international tourist arrivals will reach 1.8 billion by 2030, this growth will need to be managed in a way that mutually reinforces economic growth, social welfare and environmental protection.
President Bill Clinton, Founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation and 42nd President of theUnited States will deliver the Global Summit keynote address.
Daryl Hannah, American Actress and Activist, Jonathan E. Porritt, Founder, Director and Trustee, Forum for the Future, David de Rothschild, adventurer and environmentalist, Laura Turner, Captain Planet Foundation and Christoph Weber, CEO, Jatro will be among those discussing what can be done to ensure the industry is sustainable for the long term.
The Chief Executives of over twenty Travel & Tourism companies will also be speaking and available to the media, as well as more than five hundred senior private and public sector executives will also be attending.
Also in the field of Technology and social media, we’ll be hearing what\'s hot and what\'s next in the travel sphere from speakers including Lee McCabe, Head of Travel, Global Vertical Marketing, Facebook, Jesse Maddox, CEO, TripLingo and Tony Espinoza, CEO, CouchSurfing. A full list of confirmed speakers for the Summit can be found on WTTC’s website.
