Welcome to EuroBasket 2013

Two years after its successful candidacy for EuroBasket 2013 and almost a year before the start of the Championships, Slovenia is making the final preparations for the largest European basketball event, which will take place in Slovenia between 4th and 22nd September 2013. It will be hosted by four Slovenian towns, all less than an hour’s drive from the capital of Ljubljana.

The Postojna Cave, the greatest Slovenian tourist attraction and the most visited cave in Europe, will be the venue of the 2013 EuroBasket draw ceremony on November 18. It will be the first in history to take place completely beneath the ground at an extremely attractive location. EuroBasket 2013 and its main host city, Ljubljana, will be the main feature of the Slovenian presentation at WTM London.

The Postojna Cave, the greatest Slovenian tourist attraction and the most visited cave in Europe, will be the venue of the 2013 EuroBasket draw ceremony on November 18. The Savica Hotel, which is considered to be a specialised family hotel among the Sava Hotels Bled of the Sava Turizem Group, won the EU Flower, i.e. the eco-label awarded by the European Union for environmentally friendly tourist accommodation, at the beginning of October. Slovenian tourism ends 2012 peak tourist season successfully

According to the provisional data provided by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia, Slovenia recorded a 3.1% increase in arrivals and a 1.4% increase of overnight stays by tourists in the first 8 months of 2012 compared to the same period last year, whereby the number of foreign tourists rose by 6.1%, creating a 5.6% increase in overnight stays from the same period last year.
