The Pavilion – Finally It\'s Open
The Heart of the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012
The Pavilion invites all those who love design, architecture and urban culture! Eat well, listen to the sounds of summer Helsinki on a pier, during a rainy day gather your friends to the living room or during a sunny day enjoy a picnic. Work in the library corner and let your hair down in the traditional Finnish open air dance (lavatanssit). Above all participate, debate, question and be merry.
Be part of the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 and help us to make this city an even better place to live.
The Pavilion is located at Ullanlinnankatu 2-4.
Why and what?
The Pavilion is an open-to-all space between the Museum of Finnish Architecture and the Design Museum where you can experience the WDC Helsinki 2012 year. The Pavilion, designed at Aalto University\'s Wood Program, is a showcase of Finnish sustainable wood architecture. The architecture is based on the winning design of Pyry-Pekka Kantonen selected in the spring of 2011. The Pavilion is realised by WDC Helsinki 2012 in collaboration with Aalto University, the Museum of Finnish Architeture, the Design Museum and UPM. The programme is coordinated by Demos Helsinki.
