Vaasa XXII Choir Festival 14–18 May 2014

Vaasa Choir Festival is a five-day long, major international event of vocal and choir music, open to all choirs and vocal ensembles. Almost a hundred concerts will be held during the Festival all around the city and the surrounding area. Vocal and choir music will be heard in churches, concert halls, schools, restaurants, sheltered homes, etc.

Annually some 2,000–3,000 singers from Finland and around the world take part in the Festival. The main performers include both national and international top singers and ensembles representing various styles of vocal and choir music. World music, barbershop and more traditional choral music go hand in hand at this happy event. Join us at the Choir Festival – you’ll enjoy our diverse range of impressive concert experiences!

There’s still time to register your choir for the major choir event of the spring. Choir registration ends next Friday the 14th February. Registration forms are available on the Festival website, as is a link to NetTicket where you can pay for your participation fee with no hassle. You can also find out the choirs that have already registered online. Don’t forget to visit the Festival Facebook page and click “like”. You can also tell readers there about your coming concert in Vaasa.

The Choir Festival offers participants specially negotiated prices on accommodation and meals. You can find these on the Festival website. Please make your reservation directly with the hotel of your choice using the code.

If you fancy a cruise, there’s a cruise ship travelling between Vaasa and Umeå throughout the Festival period. Book your inexpensive cruise directly from Wasaline. Check out what else is going on in Vaasa during the Festival on the Visit Vaasa site and the Ostrobothnia.fi site’s event calendar.

Tickets for the main concerts can already be bought in NetTicket, an easy online service that allows you to book, buy and pay for your concert tickets.
