Select the country and object's type Kiowa Gordon, Twilight “Werewolf,” to Share His Hualapai Tribal Heritage by Hosting Fans on His Native Land at Grand Canyon West for the First Time

Multiple Opportunities Offered to Meet the Celebrity While He Whitewater Rafts Through the Grand Canyon and Visits Grand Canyon West, Home of the Skywalk

PEACH SPRINGS, AZ (September 12, 2012) Kiowa Gordon, a Hualapai Tribal member and part of the Twilight series’ “Wolf Pack,” has joined with Hualapai Tourism offering his fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with him while enjoying the beauty of Grand Canyon West. This will be the first time he has ever done this. Gordon’s celebrity has grown rapidly since 2009 by playing Embry Call in New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn (part 1 and 2) but he has never lost the connection to his Hualapai roots. “I love my fans, I love my heritage. I take great pride in being Hualapai. Rafting the Colorado River and visiting Grand Canyon West will be a great opportunity to show my fans firsthand the beautiful land that my people come from,” said Gordon.

Gordon is seventh of eight children. His mother, Camille Nighthorse, is an active member of the Tribe and also in show business. His Grandmother, Mabelene Mahone, resides in Peach Springs, the Capital of the Hualapai Nation and headquarters of Hualapai Tourism. Gordon’s Great Uncle, Weldon Mahone, was one of the elders who believed strongly that tourism was the future of the Tribe. Mahone, actually helped grade the land for the project that included the original dirt runway at Grand Canyon West Airport, now one of Arizona’s busiest.

Kiowa Gordon will make an appearance at the Hualapai Lodge on Historic Route 66 from 7 P.M. to 8 P.M. on September 28. He will take photos with fans and sign autographs for anyone that eats at the Diamond Creek Restaurant inside the Lodge anytime that day (fans to show receipt for photo). On September 29, Gordon will take the Hualapai River Runners (the only one-day Grand Canyon whitewater rafting adventure) with visitors that reserve for that day. Seats are limited and a few lucky fans using the code “KG12” while booking in advance will have the chance to be on the same raft as Gordon. Fans booking with this code will also get an autographed photo when using the code.

Gordon will return to the Hualapai Nation in October to Grand Canyon West, home of the Skywalk. On October 25 he will spend the night in the cabins at Hualapai Ranch, Grand Canyon West, tell stories and take photos with any fans that book a cabin for that night. On October 26, Gordon will be at Grand Canyon West’s viewpoints to take photos throughout the day. Any visitor that purchases a Grand Canyon West package will have access to the appearance/photo opportunities and those who reserve in advance using the promo code “KG12” will receive an autographed photo upon check-in. Fans can book advance reservations and get directions at www.hualapaitourism.com or by calling 1-888-868-9378.
