Herbalife Triathlon Los Angeles is a terrific opportunity for athletes to compete in a world-class event and experience Los Angeles in a unique way. This year, the races begin on the morning of Sept. 30. Recognized as one of the top destination triathlons in the country, it features a point-to-point course from Venice Beach to Downtown Los Angeles, and has become the West Coast\'s premier triathlon.

Just try staying in your seat when you watch the Breeders\' Cup World Championships set for Nov. 3 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia. The 29th annual event is the culmination of the racing season worldwide, and the $5 million Breeders\' Cup Classic is the defining event of the international racing season. The Breeders\' Cup Classic run at 1 1/4 miles draws the top international thoroughbreds year after year. It is open to horses 3 years and older and is limited to 14 starters. Six of this year\'s starters will gain automatic entries into the race by qualifying through the Breeders\' Cup Challenge series. The event began in 1984 and is now at the front in worldwide racing events. www.breederscup.com

Los Angeles will get in on the excitement around March Madness with the NCAA Basketball Championships. The 75th Annual Division I Men\'s Basketball Championship takes place throughout the country from March 19 through April 8, 2013.
