Select the country and object's type SUMMER SIZZLES IN BEVERLY HILLS

As summer gets underway in Beverly Hills, so do a number of classic summertime events that will have visitors taking full advantage of our famous California sunshine.

Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance, a Father’s Day tradition in Beverly Hills, will once again take center stage along this famous street on Sunday, June 17 (9 am – 4 pm). Taking a cue from our friends across the pond, this year’s highly anticipated classic car extravaganza, themed The British Are Coming, will showcase an unprecedented collection of Aston Martins, prized for their elegant styling and performance capabilities. Other classic British imports to be prominently featured include the Austin Healy, Bentley, Rolls Royce and Jaguar.

Concerts on Cañon, a free outdoor summer concert series in Beverly Cañon Gardens, hosts an exciting line-up of jazz, pop, swing and rockabilly bands on Thursday evenings at 6 pm and again at 7:15 pm (June 14 & 28 and July 12 - September 13). Sunday Movie Nights, also at Beverly Cañon Gardens, presents the perfect opportunity to enjoy classic, family-friendly movies under the stars (July 15 & 29, August 12 & 26 and September 9). Locals and visitors are encouraged to gather family and friends, spread a blanket and enjoy a picnic or “to go” meal from any of the nearby restaurants as they groove to smooth jazz or settle in for a fan favorite on the big screen.

NEW LOOK FOR PENINSULA

The award-winning Peninsula Beverly Hills has just unveiled a new look – the result of extensive, year-long renovations to all 193 guest rooms, suites and villas. This renowned hotel property is a AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five Star hotel award-winner for 19 consecutive years. The new design sought to retain the classic elegance and private estate feel of the hotel while infusing color and an energy that connects the hotel’s bright interior with the tropical gardens and landscape surrounding the property. Beverly Hills-based Forchielli Glynn LLC was chosen to manage the design process and utilized local artisans for interior elements including crystal chandeliers, handcrafted tables and Chinoiserie wall panels. Most notable are the changes made to the four largest suites on the property, each distinguished by a specific color theme and drawing on classic international influences. The Peninsula is now receiving guests in these beautifully renovated spaces.

NEW BEVERLY HILLS VISITOR CENTER

The Beverly Hills Visitor Center will have a new home and more central location within the Golden Triangle of Beverly Hills this fall. The new facility, to be located at 9400 S. Santa Monica Blvd, Ste. 102 (at N. Cañon Drive), is prominently positioned and conveniently located, making it easier for both visitors and locals to access its resources. In addition to offering traditional maps, brochures and resource materials, the new space will also feature cutting edge technology that incorporates interactive displays, touch screens and iPads to assist visitors with reservation requests and help them find their way around Beverly Hills. Look for additional details on this move in forthcoming communications.

Things To Do

FUSION CUISINE DREAM WEDDINGS

Beverly Hills has seen an influx of restaurants with a focus on fusion cuisine – the most recent being Yojisan Sushi. Renowned chef and restaurateur, Giacomino Drago, and master sushi chef, Yoji Tajima, collaborated on the predominantly contemporary Japanese eatery that incorporates Mexican flourishes in many dishes like the miso black cod tacos or lobster ceviche. LIVELLO at L’Ermitage Beverly Hills literally translates to “level” in Italian and represents the balance between Italian and Asian flavors on an eclectic menu that includes handmade pastas and noodles in combination with classic Italian and Asian entrees. Just around the corner from Restaurant Row, Red Medicine subtly combines Asian influences with a more dominant Vietnamese emphasis in the innovative selections at this dining establishment. Chef Jordan Kahn, formerly of French Laundry and Per Se and a Food & Wine nominee for The People’s Best New Chef 2012, has broken down the menu into hot and cold offerings, small plates and larger format dishes with nontraditional selections like Imperial Wagyu Beef Brisket and Chinese Lion Peppers.

Every couple has dreams for their wedding day – a perfect day in a breathtaking setting that provides a dramatic backdrop for the exchange of vows and a lifetime of memories. Brides who celebrate their wedding at Montage Beverly Hills now have the enviable option of borrowing exquisite jewels from luxury jeweler, Michael Beaudry, as part of the hotel’s “Something Borrowed” experience. Jewelry, loaned for the wedding day, will clearly make the bride a standout as the most exquisite woman in the room. Greystone Mansion and its impeccably landscaped gardens have always provided a stunning setting for a wedding ceremony and reception. Recent renovations at this estate including a full kitchen upgrade and catering services make this a turn-key venue as food services are now available on-site. The property can now also accommodate smaller gatherings or receptions inside the mansion. Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel, has the event covered from start to finish with wedding planners on staff to assist the couple with singular elements like the rehearsal dinner and post-wedding brunch or specially created wedding packages like the Some Enchanted Evening or It Had To Be You all-inclusive packages. Beverly Hills is unquestionably the quintessential choice for an unforgettable wedding celebration.

FATHER\'S DAY

As Father\'s Day approaches, options and opportunities to celebrate Dad are almost endless in Beverly Hills. Guests make it a weekend affair with time at the Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance and a stay at Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel. Luxe’s British Intelligence package includes deluxe accommodations and American breakfast for two along with a James Bond-inspired welcome cocktail – the 360 Martini, a gin-based beverage that’s shaken, not stirred. Dads with a softer side will appreciate a gentleman’s shave or grooming service at The Art of Shaving, and during June, they receive a 20% discount on any razor with the purchase of a full-size shaving kit. Dad certainly needs to eat, and his timing couldn’t be better as Crustacean’s Master Chef, Helene “Mama An”, has created a special Father’s Day menu based on her favorite dishes including savory sautéed filet mignon and Crustacean’s legendary garlic noodles.
