This district is a wonderful escape from the tourist traps. Some spectacular caves and waterfalls offer the chance to swim, snorkel and kayak through the mangroves.

The main destination of Ao Luk district is the Than Bokkhorani National Park and the district also offers some beautiful off-shore islands to explore with the biggest named Ko Hong. Great spot for diving, snorkelling and fishing as the crystal clear waters are at varying depths. Nearby of the beach are a number of trails which offer hikes to the more adventurous.
Tarnbohk Koranii National Park is shady and forested by many different species of trees growing round the captivating pool after which the park is named, the Sah Bohk Koranii. Species include the Wild gardenia, Asoka, and Apocynaceae, The Sah Bohk Koranii flows through a wind passage in the mountain. A footprint of the Buddha carved in wood near the little temple sacred to Jao Por Toh Yuan-Toh Chong is at the north end of the pool.
Tham Phi Hua To or Tham Hua Kalok is a cave surrounded by mangrove swamps. From the entrance, the cave divides into 2 routes, the left one leading to a vast chamber pierced by a shaft of light, while the right route leads to a hall believed by archaeologists to have been once a shelter for prehistoric people. There are ancient drawings painted in red and black.
