Early Registration for the 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk Ends April 2.
Join us to honor, remember, and reunite at the first-ever 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk and Family Day on Sunday, April 21, 2013 in lower Manhattan.
Thank you to all who have already signed up. Registration for runners has now sold out, but we invite you to join us as a walker. Register now and encourage others to do the same by April 2 for discounted early registration fees.

Can\'t be in NYC on April 21? Participate as a Virtual Runner
Even if you can\'t join us in New York City on April 21, you can still participate and support the Memorial & Museum.
Commit to running, walking or participating from home. Get your friends, family, co-workers, or even your local gym involved. As a thank you for your efforts, you will receive official 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk T-shirt.
How to Become a Virtual Runner:
1. Register
2. Create a fundraising page or fundraising team.
3. Spread the Word.
Please register by April 2, 2013 for discounted early registration fees.
No matter how you choose to get involved, all funds raised through your participation in the 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk and Family Day will directly support the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.

Retired firefighter and author of \"The Long Run,\" Matt Long was a first responder on 9/11. He was also a seasoned marathon runner. In the winter of 2005, Matt was struck by a bus on the streets of New York City while riding his bike to work. His injuries were nearly fatal, but after five months in the hospital and 40 surgeries in less than two years, Matt survived due to his high level of fitness and determination to survive. In 2008, against all odds, he completed the New York City Marathon.

Join us for Family Day, a Free Community Event
All are welcome to join a day of family activities on Vesey Street between Church Street and Broadway, in front of the 9/11 Memorial Preview Site, on April 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This community event will include activities for all ages and food and refreshments. It will also offer information about the 9/11 Memorial, as well as ways to learn more about volunteer opportunities in the spirit of the National 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance.
