Select the country and object's type BAL DES ARTISTES SECOND HIT IN A ROW FOR CANO!

Judging from the crowd who joined us for our \"Bal des Artistes\" Carnival Ball and Benefit on January 3rd, (the first unofficial Carnival Ball of the season), we have hit another home run with a creative, inspiring, and fun event. Again, as we did for the \"Hot and Bothered\" event last June, we heard endless compliments on this being one of the best parties ever! (We would love to hear from you, of course...your comments are important to us, both compliments and suggestions for our next ventures.) Please email us at info@cano-la.org.

Most importantly, we also accomplished one of our main goals....to educate a broader audience about the talents of our city\'s designers and creative producers. The more the general public knows about the impressive, original work being produced in our city, the more we can advance the goal of educating the world to New Orleans\' powerful creative achievements and potential.

On the fun side, the Morning Call Coffee Stand and Casino were an even greater hit than we expected. Our \"All Gowned Up\" fashion runway set up in the porch area, the coffee shop for dining, the dance hall and boutique all on the ground floor, and the jazz club on the balcony drew crowds all night. All of the new young acts presented won fans, and we know the beignet and coffee lovers will be back to the Morning Call in City Park for many visits to come.

We have SO many people to thank that we have listed them on our website. But above all we need to thank the Hennessey Brothers who own and manage the Morning Call Coffee Stand, Dottie Belletto and her NOCCI crew who helped produce the event, the New Orleans Musical Legends Foundation who sponsored our entertainment, and Bernard Productions that always finds a way to make things work. We also thank all of our creative designers and beautiful models, and the backstage crew who helped make sure they were ready for our prime time fashion show. We thank our staff, Tori Bush, and Janelle Varnado, and our amazing volunteer crew including Arielle Schwartz, Andrea Zlotowitz, Allison Abney, Chris Lane, our MC, and Noel. Ryan Page, Rick Olivier, and Garrity Printers made sure we got those beautiful invites out to you, and we loved our ad in Gambit and our coverage in The Times-Picayune, and on WWL-TV, and WVUE, not to mention dozens of blogs, and eblasts by so many of our CANO friends.

So now it is on to the 2nd year of our strategic plan, having fulfilled the goals of the plan\'s first year. We are going into a review of our 2nd year plan with our board, staff and stakeholders, so if you would like to participate, please let us know at info@cano-la.org.

Next up, please watch out for our panel during Idea Village\'s Entrepreneur week when we will be exploring innovative strategies for funding private and non-profit creative organizations and companies on Tuesday, March 16th, 2013.

Finally...DO NOT MISS seeing the catalog of many of the fashions we presented during the Bal des Artistes event, available now for viewing on our website (www.cano-la.org). There are many gowns still available, and designers are ready to work with you on your party-going needs.

Happy Carnival!
