The 41st Annual Renaissance ArtsFaire announces Call for Artists!

The Doña Ana Arts Council\'s 41st Annual Renaissance ArtsFaire, featuring over 150 artists\' booths, is now accepting artist vendor applications. This Faire is recognized as one of the finest of its kind in the Southwest. The event is widely promoted throughout the region in print, radio, television and direct mailings. Attendance is 25,000 to 30,000 visitors each year. Held at Young Park, the lake, towering trees and rolling lawns provide an idyllic setting for the Faire. Unique costumed entertainers, medieval decorations and special food booths add to the Renaissance atmosphere.

The Renaissance ArtsFaire is the largest juried arts show in Southern New Mexico. Jurors select participants exhibiting only the highest quality arts and crafts. Artist categories include ceramics, painting, textiles, drawing/prints, photography, toys, glass, jewelry, sculpture, wood, leather, musical instruments, and an \"other\" category for items such as paper, candles, soaps, and oils. Artists\' booths are supported by performances of music, dance, theater and a variety of food booths, all presented in a Renaissance theme.

The Dona Ana Arts Council is a non-profit organization working to improve the quality of life in Las Cruces, Dona Ana County, and Southern New Mexico by ensuring that the performing, visual and literary arts are an integral part of education, economic growth and community development. The Renaissance ArtsFaire is the Art Council\'s major fundraising event. All income generated by gate admissions, booth fees and Pepsi sales goes to support arts in education and other council programs throughout the year.
