Building on the highly successful inaugural Miami Museum Month in spring 2009, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau has increased participation to twenty one cultural attractions this year. Beyond art galleries, the depth and breadth of Miami’s cultural attractions ensures that every generation can discover a museum best suited for their personal interests and passions. GOTHAM STEAK AT FONTAINEBLEAU MIAMI BEACH RECEIVES AAA FOUR DIAMOND AWARD: Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s sizzling steakhouse, Gotham Steak, has recently been bestowed the honor of the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award. This distinction makes Fontainebleau Miami Beach the only resort in Florida to house three AAA Four Diamond-awarded fine dining destinations – Gotham Steak , Scarpetta, Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s acclaimed Italian restaurant, and Hakkasan, the resort’s authentic Cantonese restaurant. According to AAA, “a Four Diamond restaurant is geared to individuals in search of distinctive fine-dining experiences; the menu reflects a high degree of creativity and complexity to enhance high quality, market-fresh ingredients.” www.fontainebleau.com

VIZCAYA MUSUEM & GARDENS INTRODUCES AUDIO TOUR IN THREE NEW LANGUAGES: PORTUGUESE, FRENCH AND HAITIAN CREOLE: Miami’s stunning European-inspired estate on Biscayne Bay has announced the launch of audio tours in additional languages for visitors who speak Portuguese, French and Haitian Creole. First introduced a year ago in English and Spanish, the Discover Vizcaya Audio Tour in multiple languages is sure to delight Vizcaya visitors from around town and around the globe. With the largest population of Haitian-Americans in the country living in South Florida, it was natural for the Museum to select Creole as the third audio tour language. “The Creole version appears to be the first professionally produced audio tour in this language at a U. S. museum,” said Vizcaya Executive Director Joel Hoffman. Audio tours in Portuguese and French reflect the ever-increasing international visitors to Miami-Dade County’s most popular visual arts museum. The Discover Vizcaya Audio Tour features 90 minutes of content and guides visitors through the main spaces and primary ideas associated with Vizcaya at their own pace. In this way, visitors will gain an in-depth understanding of individual objects while exploring themes such as cultural exchange, design and patronage, and work and leisure. www.vizcayamuseum.org

THE WYNWOOD BUILDING: THE “GO TO” BUILDING FOR THE CREATIVE COMMUNITY OPENS IN THE WYNWOOD ARTS DISTRICT: The Wynwood Building, at 2750 NW Third Avenue, Goldman Properties’ latest venture in the Wynwood Arts District, is the first new mixed use building in the neighborhood in decades. Designed to serve the needs of Wynwood’s emerging professional community, The Wynwood Building provides both office and retail space – blending hip, vibrant design with practicality – offering amenities, security and value. Back in 2004, Wynwood was a low density warehouse district that had given birth to an emerging arts community when urban revitalizer Tony Goldman and a few others began acquiring properties in the district. Goldman was able to envision the district’s evolution as a thriving, artistically driven, architecturally exciting pedestrian neighborhood. Fast forward to today – Wynwood is home to more than 70 galleries, a multitude of artist’s studios, new restaurants, bars, clubs, and retail stores as well as performance and production spaces, and has become the center of Miami’s cutting edge art scene. www.thewynwoodbuilding.com
