Select the country and object's type GVB Hosts Korea-Guam Tourism Council On Guam

(Thursday, February 9, 2012; Tumon, Guam) The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) hosted the visit of the Guam-Korea Tourism Council (KGTC) with a welcome reception co-supported by the Outrigger Guam Resort and DFS Galleria Guam on February 2, 2012 in Guam.

The council is an organization made up of the top Korean travel agencies.

Speaker Judith Won Pat, Senator Tina Muña-Barnes, GVB Board Chairman Monte Mesa, GVB Board Director and GVB Korea Marketing Committee Chairman N. Oscar Miyashita, GVB Deputy General Manager Jon Nathan Denight, GVB Marketing Manager Pilar Laguaña, and others joined KGTC Chairman and Mode Tour president Ki-Chung Hong; Hee-Seok Kweon, Hana Tour president; Gwang-Sik Bhang, Jau Tour CEO; Yoon Dae Seung, Very Good Tour president; Jae Kun Kim, Jin Air president; and their spouses over dinner hosted by the Outrigger Guam Resort and General Manager John Wigstein, to discuss opportunities to maintain increases in Korea-Guam visitor arrivals.

At the reception, Jin Air President Mr. Kim announced plans to add additional regular flights from Incheon, South Korea to Guam later in the year if the load factor continue to remain high and support from Guam is sustained.

“The visit of the KGTC is the highlight of our Korea marketing initiatives. The announcement by Jin Air President Mr. Kim is exciting and represents continued confidence for Guam visits from Korea,” said GVB General Manager Joann G. Camacho.

“With the GVB team in place, including Mr. Miyashita as Chairman of the Korea Marketing Committee, we see great results ahead in this market. In fact, Korea visits to Guam showed the quickest recovery after the triple disasters in Japan,” she added.

The delegation also had productive meetings with several local organizations that do business in Korea.
