For the Love of Art at the Branigan Cultural Center

The Branigan Cultural Center and the ArtForms Artists Association presents For the Love of Art. This exhibit opens Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 and ends Saturday, February 25, 2012. A reception is to be held from 5 - 7:00 pm on Friday, February 4, 2012 during the monthly Ramble.

\"For the Love of Art\" is a celebration of art in Las Cruces. Paintings, drawings, sculptures, jewelry, paper, fiber arts and wood are on display. This exhibition shows the works of local artists while opening the eyes of the public to the innumerable possibilities in the various media.

ArtForms is an organization that promotes all artistic forms. Its mission is \"...to ensure that our creative community is regarded as a revenue-generating industry\" as it works toward \"...the recognition of the greater Las Cruces area as an international art and cultural destination.\"

In addition to the exhibit, the Branigan Cultural Center hosts presentations by area musicians, dancers and poets during this year\'s For the Love of Art month. On Friday, Feb. 3 from 5 - 7 pm, American Indian flutist, Randy Granger gives a concert. Voz Vaqueros, \"The Singing Men of Las Cruces,\" performs on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 1pm to 2 pm. Local Flamenco dancers join Lucilene de Geus to entertain on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 1 pm to 2 pm. The percussionists in Ten Plus One perform on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 1 pm to 2 pm. Concluding this month of celebrating all art is a poetry reading by Sin Fronteras on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 1 pm to 2 pm. All programs are open to the public and admission is free. Join us as we celebrate art in all its forms!
