RALEIGH, N.C. (December 14, 2011) – DoubleTree by Hilton has announced the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton Raleigh-Brownstone University in Raleigh, N.C. Located two blocks from both North Carolina State University and the Cameron Village Shopping Center with more than 100 shops and restaurants, the 190-room, full-service hotel is located less than one mile from the State Capitol, the Raleigh Convention Center, Glenwood South Entertainment District, Marbles Kids Museum, Museum of Natural Sciences, Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts and numerous downtown Raleigh businesses.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Raleigh-Brownstone University is operated by MHI Hospitality Corporation under a franchise license agreement with a subsidiary of Hilton Worldwide and is managed by Chesapeake Hospitality.

The conversion of the former Holiday Inn into the DoubleTree by Hilton Raleigh-Brownstone University included a complete exterior and interior facelift of the existing hotel. Highlights of the $4.6 million renovation included redesign and upgrades of all guest rooms and suites, a newly designed open lobby concept that features a large atrium fireplace, comfortable new lounge seating and a multipurpose library with diverse audio/visual capabilities and complimentary wireless Internet service throughout the entire hotel.

Guestrooms are available in a variety of room types that include oversized deluxe and executive level rooms, as well as spacious two-room suites. Each newly designed guestroom features an array of in-room amenities, including complimentary high-speed internet access; MP3-compatible stereo clock radios; 37-inch, high-definition, LCD TVs; generous work desks with ergonomic chairs; Wolfgang Puck gourmet coffee service; and refreshing Crabtree & Evelyn Citron bath products.

For meetings, conferences and social gatherings, the DoubleTree by Hilton Raleigh-Brownstone University provides more than 13,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space, including a 7,700 sq.ft Presidential Ballroom capable of accommodating up to 700 guests, as well as a fully-equipped, self-service business center.
