LCCCA presents Carpe Diem String Quartet

Carpe Diem String Quartet is quickly becoming the premiere American \"indie\" string quartet. The group performs the classical string quartet repertoire, but their musical passion has led them down the paths of Gypsy, Tango, Folk, Pop, Rock and Jazz-inspired music. Carpe Diem String Quartet, in residence at Ohio Wesleyan University, is an exciting group that has captured the imagination of audiences, the respect of critics and is becoming one of the most versatile ensembles of their generation. Howling Coyote Coffeehouse & Open Mic

A staple of the downtown ArtRamble since February of 2006, the Howling Coyote started out as a jam session for local musicians and quickly grew into a showcase featuring some of finest talent Las Cruces has to offer. The monthly event now makes the Rio Grande Theatre its home and continues to feature primarily acoustic musicians, singers and songwriters with family-appropriate material. On Exhibit in the El Paso Electric Gallery

Steven Kaeppler

The diverse personal work of filmmaker/photographer Steven Kaeppler will be on display in the El Paso Electric Gallery, South of the Rio Grande Theatre lobby, for the month of December, 2011. The show will range from traditional color landscapes to non-traditional digital imagery. \"This showing of 16 Photographs at the Rio Grande Theater represents both my diverse background, and a return to Artistic Creativity as the main focus of my life,\" Kaeppler says. \"I qualify it as Artistic Creativity because, there has never been anything in my life that didn\'t go better with a twist of Creativity.\" The exhibit will run through the month of December 2011, beginning with an artist reception coinciding with WinterFest on December 2, from 5 to 7pm, as part of the Downtown Art Ramble.

Also included that evening will be the Howling Coyote Coffeehouse/Open Mic, beginning at 7pm. On permanent display in the Clute/Muggenburg Gallery are memorabilia and photos from the Rio Grande Theatre\'s long and illustrious reign in downtown Las Cruces.
