Select the country and object's type The Doña Ana Arts Council Presents The Outrageous Fortunate Theatre Company in \'Tis Shakespearish at the Rio Grande Theatre

\"All the world\'s a stage and all the men and women merely players...\" So sayeth the Bard. This December, the Doña Ana Arts Council, in partnership with the Las Cruces Public Schools and the Kennedy Center Partners in Education program, are proud to bring the Outrageous Fortune Theatre Company to the Rio Grande Theatre for the very first time in a treat for the entire family! \'Tis Shakespearish is an original take on William Shakespeare, guaranteed to renew appreciation and create a whole new audience for the \"sweet, sweet words of the Bard.\" The Outrageous Fortune Theatre Company will make \"their exits and their entrances\" at the Rio Grande Theatre, on December 9, 2011 at 7pm.

With the goal of making the works of the greatest playwright in English literature more accessible to the masses, Outrageous Fortune Theatre Company presents an original adaptation of William Shakespeare\'s greatest works, modified for modern audiences and adventurous thespians alike. \'Tis Shakespearish, written by Dr. Joel Murray, professor of Theatre Arts at the University of Texas at El Paso, and Nancy Saklad, is a fun (and slightly silly) adaptation, featuring various characters and scenes from Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, Hamlet and Midsummer Night\'s Dream. With modern interpretations and an interactive approach, it\'s the Bard as you\'ve never experienced him before!

The Rio Grande Theatre is located at 211 N. Main Street, in Las Cruces. Admission is $1 per person at the door for all ages. We also encourage you to bring canned goods for our Casa de Peregrinos food drive. Showtime is 7pm; doors open at 6:30pm. Call (575) 523-6403 for more information or go to www.RioGrandeTheatre.com.
