Map Dowsing and Dowsing for Energies Workshop

Oct. 1, 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Learn to use maps to remotely dowse for water, treasures, buried items, etc. Dowse for noxious (Geopathic) energies and learn to resolve problems associated with those energies. As a prerequisite, participants must have already completed the Basic Dowsing Course or equivalent. The cost is $15 ($12 for Friends of the Museum). Bring your dowsing tools with you (loaners will be available if needed). To pre-register, call (575) 522-4100.

Lecture Series: The New Deal is Still a Good Deal

Oct. 13, 7 p.m.

Kathryn Flynn, executive director of the National New Deal Preservation Association in Santa Fe, presents: \"The New Deal is Still a Good Deal ... And There is Still a Great Deal of it Right Here in New Mexico.\" Between 1933-43, folks got paid by the federal government to use their knowledge, skills and experience. Who were they? What did they do and where? Flynn also is the author of \"Treasures on New Mexico Trails: New Deal Art and Architecture.\" The lecture is co-sponsored by the Barnes and Noble Book Store at New Mexico State University. Admission is a suggested donation of $2.

Ghosts of the Past

Oct. 28-29, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Make plans to step back in time and experience \"Ghosts of the Past.\" The popular living history tours provide visitors the opportunity to encounter intriguing historical characters from New Mexico\'s past. There will be more than a dozen characters from different time periods featured during two mysteriously entertaining evenings. Ghosts of the Past offers history and fun and can be enjoyed by the entire family. Visitors can choose between indoor or outdoor tours that last about an hour. The tours begin at 6 p.m. and continue starting every 20 minutes until 8 p.m. Advance tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for children, while tickets on the day of the tours are $4 for adults and $2 for children.
