Select the country and object's type Las Cruces Tapped to Host National Arm Wrestling Competition

Las Cruces, N.M. - Competitors from around the world are invited to knuckle up for the 2011 United States Armwrestling Association National Pro-Am Arm Wrestling Championships at the Ramada Palms Hotel & Conference Center Sept. 16-18.

Custom watches and medals for first-place winners and more than $5,000 in cash prizes will be on the table for competitors to win, as well as free t-shirts to the first 100 entries.

The event will be preceded by weigh-ins on Friday, Sept. 16 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sept 17. from 9:30 a.m. to 12 a.m., followed by the Pro, Novice and Youth Tournament, which starts at 12 p.m. Weigh-ins continue on Sunday, Sept 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by the Amateur & Masters Tournament from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Entry fees range from $30 to $10, depending on the competitor\'s age and chosen class. Team competition with awards from first to third place are also available for entry.

The competition is divided up into weight classes and includes a mix of men\'s open, amateur, novice, and pro left and right-arm competiton as well as ladies pro and amateur right-hand competition. The competition is also sorted by age, with classes for kids, teens, age 40 and above, 50 and above, and 60 and above.

The competition is open to all international competitors, and special room rates are available at the Ramada Palms Hotel if guests mention they are arm wrestlers. Guests are encouraged to make reservations in advance by calling (575) 526-4411.
