All proceeds from ticket sales fund the CAP program.

As part of the three day festival, the Camino Del Arte Gallery Walk in the Historic Mesquite District will feature artist demonstrations by Plein Air Artists on Saturday. On Main Street, local artists including NMSU students will be constructing a sculpture made entirely from collected coffee mugs.

Coffee mugs are now being accepted for the creation of the mug sculpture - Here\'s your chance to get rid of those unwanted mugs taking up space in your cupboards! Mugs can be dropped at participating Starbucks, Toucan Market, and the Rio Grande Theatre.

Plein air artists seek the quality of natural light and atmosphere outdoors. Their art work is in direct response to the beauty they find in nature. They use a variety of media, from oils through watercolors and pastels. The public will be able to join in the fun by watching individual artists developing a painting on the spot and can move from painter to painter throughout the day. Guest judge for this year\'s competition is Preston Thayer, Director of the NMSU Art Galleries.
