Select the country and object's type Science Uncorked: Sight & Smell September Installment of the Popular Wine Series

The Maryland Science Center\'s hit wine series, Science Uncorked, returns on the evening of Thursday, September 8th from 7-9pm. September\'s Science Uncorked is titled \"Sight & Smell.\"

Guests will use the official A.C. Noble Wine Aroma Wheel as a guide through a journey of discovering the aromas found in wines, creating a basis for learning about wine tasting. An exercise involving palate calibration will also be conducted to demonstrate where on the palate the four structural components of wine fall on the tongue and in your mouth. In addition, we will taste \"Live\" wines to put this tasting technique into practice!

Sharon Charny, Certified Training Coordinator, for the Charmer Sunbelt Group which is a distributor of fine wines, spirits, beer, and alcohol will be the resident expert for this installment of the Science Uncorked series. Sharon is a 20 year veteran of the food and wine industry. Since 1992, she has focused her efforts on developing innovative techniques combining her food and wine knowledge by creating successful wine programs for hotels, caterers and white tablecloth restaurants.

All Science Uncorked events are designed to be casual, informative programs that are as much fun for novice wine aficionados as they are for those with discerning palates. Time to mingle, try more wines, and talk with the expert will be available before and after the small, group-style presentation.

Tickets for Science Uncorked are $50 ($45 for Maryland Science Center members) and are all inclusive–wine, food and program. Doors open at 7:00pm.
