Select the country and object's type Val Kilmer to Receive WSIFF 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award

Las Cruces, NM - Veteran film actor Val Kilmer will be the recipient of the 2011 White Sands International Film Festival (WSIFF) of Las Cruces' Lifetime Achievement Award.

Board President Bill Connor notes, "We are thrilled to have Mr. Kilmer as part of the 2011 White Sands International Film Festival. His enthusiasm when told about the award in turns makes us so excited to have him here as a part of our growing event."

During his close to 30-year career, Kilmer has appeared in more than 50 films including Top Gun, The Doors, Willow, Thunderheart, and Batman Forever.

Connor also shared that "The festival will be screening The Doors and Tombstone over the course of the festival with some time built in for Q&A with Mr. Kilmer. He is being very generous with his time."

Guests who would like to participate in the Lifetime Achievement Award VIP reception, should purchase one of a limited number of Platinum VIP passes through the event website, www.wsiff.com. This pass will give access to VIP parties all three evenings of the festival, plus all of the films shows at the Cineport 10 and Rio Grande Theater. Other pass options are available for films only.

The White Sands International Film Festival, in its 6th year, brings together films from around the world to showcase the skills and talents of amateur and professional filmmakers alike. The festival is a 4 day event running August 25-28, 2011 with film screenings, workshops and VIP parties in the friendly city of Las Cruces, NM.
