Festivals Edinburgh is delighted to introduce the new Storytelling Festival Pass, to coincide with the International Storytelling Festival in October 2011. The Pass offers your clients the opportunity to experience traditional and contemporary storytelling from across the world

Envelope yourself in the warm, inviting atmosphere of the Festival, embrace tales of Olympic proportions, enjoy the intricate footwork of talented dancers, including traditional Greek dance, and bask in the music of the world, from traditional Scottish folk melodies through to Jazz from Sardinia.

Island Odyssey: Scotland and Old Europe

Be ready to set sail for a land between sea and shore where Greek and Roman myths mix with sagas of the Celts!

The Festival unites the Scottish Isles with the shores and islands of the Mediterranean in an exchange and discovery of cultures and traditions, tracing the story of travel through the famous voyager Odysseus, whose epic expedition is revealed and explored throughout the Festival, while old routes are reconnected in the Year of Scotland's Islands with ‘Island Nights’ evenings offering up the best of live entertainment.

The visiting European tellers will join with the best of Scotland’s artists at the Scottish Storytelling Centre, right at the heart of Scotland’s Festival City, for ten days of outstanding performances, and they will also embark on journeys to Skye, Bute & Arran, Inner and Outer Hebrides, Shetland and Orkney. Follow them and travel on to Scotland’s Islands for the full festival experience and continue this fantastic journey.

Programme available from Monday 5th September

Join the Festival mailing list to be kept up to date with the latest developments.
