Select the country and object's type Nominations for Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame Now Being Accepted

The Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for its 2015 class of inductees. This will be the 10th induction ceremony for the AEHOF and will be held in late 2015. Date and location for honoring these famous Arkansans will be announced at a later time.

The classifications for submission of possible candidates are: performing (music, acting, dancing); non-performing (writing, directing, producing, etc.); posthumous (selections can be from any of the categories); and pioneer (a still living entertainer with Arkansas connections who was an early innovator in any of the above).

“Arkansas has a rich history in the entertainment field that often goes unrecognized. The AEHOF was established to give due credit to these world-renowned Arkansans,” said Richard W. Davies, executive director of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. The department oversees the Hall of Fame Board. Some of the past honorees are author John Grisham, country museum legend Johnny Cash, singers Al Green and Sister Rosetta Tharp, actors Alan Ladd and Academy award-winners Mary Steenburgen and Billy Bob Thornton.

Submissions must include justification as to why the person should be in the Hall of Fame along with contact information. Deadline is October 1; nominations should be sent to Gloria Robins, Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, 1 Capitol Mall, Suite 4A-900, Little Rock, AR 72201. You can also e-mail them to Gloria.Robins@Arkansas.gov. Phone 501-682-7614 with any questions.

The Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame is located at 1 Convention Center Plaza in Pine Bluff. Visit www.arkansasentertainershalloffame.com for a look at the current members.
